Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi has confirmed that his eldest daughter, Aqsa, will be getting engaged to Pakistan pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi. Shahid Afridi took to Twitter on Sunday to confirmed the speculations. He wrote that Shaheen’s family approached him and the families are in touch.
“Shaheen’s family approached my family for my daughter. Both families are in touch, matches are made in heaven, if Allah wills this match will be made too. My prayers are with Shaheen for his continued success on and off the field,” tweeted Afridi.
A formal engagement will be announced soon.
Confirming the news Shaheen’s father Ayaz Khan told local media that Shahid Afridi’s family has agreed to the proposal and that both families have well-established relations.
“We are very happy and both families have been in discussions for the last few months and hopefully now dates will be finalised soon,” he said.
Meanwhile, Shaheen replied to Shahid Afridi’s tweet saying, “Thanks Lala for your prayers. May Allah SWT make things easier for everyone. You are the pride of entire nation.”
Shahid Afridi has five daughters Ansha, Ajwa Afridi, Aqsa, Asmara and Arwa.
