Damien Martyn and Symonds continued after Katich’s dismissal and scored a half-century. The duo shared a 106-run partnership before Martyn was dismissed.
Symonds lost his wicket quickly after Martyn’s dismissal, a wicket that will go down in history as one of the strangest dismissals of all time. Symonds faced off-spinner Jehan Mubarak and hit one straight to Clarke stationed at the non-striker’s end. The ball, however, struck Clarke and went directly to the fielder, Tillakaratne Dilshan.
