Bollywood actors Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Mumbai on Thursday afternoon in the presence of family members and close friends.
Alia Bhatt took to Instagram to share the first photos.
”
Today, surrounded by our family and friends, at home … in our favourite spot – the balcony we’ve spent the last 5 years of our relationship – we got married,” she wrote.
“With so much already behind us, we can’t wait to build more memories together … memories that are full of love, laughter, comfortable silences, movie nights, silly fights, wine delights and Chinese bites. Thank you for all the love and light during this very momentous time in our lives. It has made this moment all the more special.”
From Ranbir’s side, his mother Netu Kapoor, sister Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, Shashi Kapoor’s sons Kunal Kapoor- Karan Kapoor, Rima Jain, Randhir Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Shammi Kapoor’s wife Neila Devi, Arman Jain and Navya Nanda were spotted arriving for the wedding.
The ladkiwale included Alia Bhatt’s parents Mahesh Bhatt, Soni Razdan and sisters Pooja Bhatt and Shaheen.
Akash and Shloka Ambani, Karan Johar, Ayan Mukerji and Akansha Ranjan were also in attendance.
The couple had an intimate mehendi ceremony on Wednesday, which was attended by family members.
While speaking to the media after the function, Neetu Kapoor said her daughter-in-law is the best.
“She is the best. God bless them, really,” she said.
Her daughter Riddhima added, “Bohot cute hai yaar, doll jaisi hai (She is very cute, like a doll).”
The couple’s love story began on the sets of Ayan Mukerji’s ‘Brahmastra‘ in 2017. They made their first public appearance as a couple at Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja’s reception the following year.

Ranbir Kapoor, in an interview with film critic Rajeev Masand in 2021, spoke for the first time about their impending wedding.
“I think it (the wedding) would have already been sealed had the pandemic not hit our lives. But I don’t want to jinx it by saying anything. I am going to tick mark that goal very soon in my life,” he said.
Reacting to his statement, Alia Bhatt said, “He is right but, in my head, I am married to Ranbir. In fact, I am married to Ranbir in my head for a long time. Everything happens for a reason. Whenever we do get married, it will work out right and in a beautiful way.”
