Grammy Award-winner Chris Brown was accused of hitting a woman at a Los Angeles home on Friday, authorities said. The incident came to light when LAPD officers responded to a report of an argument in the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles, NBC News reported.

Currently, an investigation is on and the event is being treated as a battery. An LAPD spokesperson said that the incident will be referred to the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office.

According to media reports, the singer wasn’t present when police arrived on the scene. No injuries were reported but it is unclear if the 32-year-old will face any charges or not.

“We have not been referred a case yet in this matter,” NBC quoted the City Attorney’s Office as saying.

This is not the first time that Brown is facing charges. Back in 2009, he had faced a slew of legal trouble when he was arrested for physically assaulting singer Rihanna, who was his girlfriend at the time.

He pleaded guilty and completed probation in 2015.

Another ex-girlfriend of Brown’s, model Karrueche Tran was granted a five-year restraining order against him in 2017.

In 2018, he was accused of presiding over a drug-fueled orgy and in 2019 he was released after being detained on aggravated rape and drug offenses.
