Even with its Guinness Book of Records label of being the ‘World Capital City of Pop’, Liverpool’s history with music competitions like the Eurovision Song Contest is chequered. The songwriting competition, which is scheduled to take place on Saturday, has thrown a wrench in the FA Cup 2022 final, causing the game to be moved forward by BBC.
In 2021 and 2021, the final was held at 5:15 PM and 5:30 PM respectively. However, in a surprising turn of events, this year’s kick-off will commence at 4:45 PM on May 14 (Saturday).
The 66th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest will be broadcast on BBC Two from 6:15 to 7:15 pm. On the other hand, the FA Cup final will be broadcast on BBC One until 7:15 PM, provided there is no extra time or penalties.
