Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami, moments before the end of the first session on Day 5 of the World Test Championship (WTC) final, wrapped himself in a towel from the waist down. After an impressive bowling display in the session, picking up two wickets, Shami was seen draped in a towel, walking back to the pavilion for lunch.
The fast bowler ended with a bowling figure of 4-76, which was the best in the team. Fans noticed the pacer’s unique on-field outfit, and many compared it to the quirky outfits that Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh often wears. Some thought it was Shami’s outfit for the cold English weather.

Shami dismissed Ross Taylor and BJ Watling early in their innings, which proved to be crucial for India in the innings. His contribution was well complemented by his fellow pacer Ishant Sharma who ended with 3-48. Sharma also picked up the main wicket of Kane Williamson. New Zealand were all out for 249 with a 32 runs lead.

India started their innings in the final session of Day 5. After 30 overs of play in India’s second innings, it was the end of the day’s play. And India had 64-2 on the board. Both the openers were dismissed by Tim Southee. Shubman Gill was the first to fall, after scoring 8 runs. Rohit Sharma scored 30 runs. Number three batsman Cheteshwar Pujara and number four batsman Virat Kohli are unbeaten on 12 and 8 respectively.
The match will extend until the reserve day, which is on Wednesday.
