Gangubai Kathiawadi (2021)
This has to be one of the most exciting projects Alia Bhatt has ever taken. Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Gangubai Kathiawadi has made Alia talk of the town. She plays the titular role of a brothel madam in Mumbai’s Kamathipura area.
The film is based on a book written by author and journalist Hussain Zaidi (Mafia Queens of Mumbai). Alia, who released the teaser of her film earlier in February, left fan awestruck with her stunning look and powerful dialogue delivery in the movie.
The film will hit theaters on July 30, 2021.
Brahmastra
Brahmastra is a three-part fantasy trilogy starring Alia Bhatt and her boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor in the lead roles. The film is based on a man Shiva (Ranbir Kapoor), who is bestowed with some superpowers. Alia will play a character called Isha.
Directed by Ayan Mukherjee, the film also features blockbuster artists like Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna Akkineni, Dimple Kapadia and Mouni Roy.
The official logo of Brahmastra was released by Dharma productions on Mahashivratri in 2019 by 150 drones at Kumbh Mela.
Takht (2021)
Takht is a period drama movie directed by Karan Johar and is jam packed with a spectacular cast which apart from Alia Bhatt includes Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, Jahnvi Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Anil Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan.
Struggling between the emotions of love, betrayal, power and anger. Takht is a family saga set in the Mughal era, a story of two brother fighting for a throne.
Darlings
Darlings will mark too many ‘firsts’ for Alia as it is her maiden production and first screen appearance with Delhi Crime fame Shefali Shah. Alia announced that she will be producing the film under the banner Eternal Sunshine Productions.
About the film–Alia plays Shefali Shah’s daughter in the movie, which is a dark comedy about the life of a mother-daughter duo who find love in conservative surroundings. Darlings is co-produced by Shah Rukh Khan’s production house, Red Chilies entertainment.
