Former Mr Universe and Scottish actor Mike Mitchell died Friday on a boat in Turkey. He was 65.
Along with two Mr Universe titles, Michell had numerous World Fitness Federation Fitness World Championship and five Masters Mr World titles under his belt. He featured in 1995 war-drama ‘Braveheart’ and 2000 action-adventure ‘Gladiator’. Mitchell was also granted the World Fitness Federation’s Living Legend Award.

He was fond of sailing and was a skipper who enjoyed taking guests to sea on a boat that he owned, Fox News reported.
A representative, while taking to TMZ, confirmed Mitchell’s death. His family said his death was due to natural causes but didn’t provide any additional details. They described him as an actor, friend and honest person.

“It was very hard to believe… The sudden death of an international actor we managed, an honest person, a real actor, a true friend, my dear friend, has saddened us deeply. I’ve always been honored to be your manager. I wish patience to you wife, dear Denise Mitchell, and your children. Getting to know you and gaining your friendship is invaluable. Sleep in the lights. RIP,” Mitchell’s rep told TMZ.
Mike Mitchell also appeared in movies like ‘One Day Removals’, ‘City of Hell’, ‘Skyfall’ and ‘Emmerdale’. According to the TMZ report, the Scottish actor had suffered a heart attack in 2006 after winning his fifth WFF title.

Mitchell joined Her Majesty’s Forces when he was 16. He served in the Elite Special Forces as a Mine Disposal Specialist and Combat Frogman before working in the Offshore Oil industry. He started his body-building career at 37.
His rep added the Mitchell is survived by his wife Denise and children.
