Asian Games silver medallist Dutee Chand on Sunday revealed her training schedule ahead of the Tokyo Olympics to be held later this month. Chand has been training for approximately six to seven hours daily, ANI reports.
Dutee Chand qualified for the Tokyo Olympics’ 100m and 200m race events via World Rankings quota.

“I’m very thankful to my trainers. I will perform well in Olympics & I aim to qualify for the semi-finals,” Chand told ANI.
There are 22 World ranking spots available for 100m and 15 for 200m. Chand, who is world No 44 in 100m and No 51 in 200m, passed the cutoff by some distance.
Talking about her training schedule, the current national champion in women’s 100m event said,” My training is going on pretty well. I practice in the morning from 6 am-10 am, 11 am-12 noon, and then from 4 pm-6 pm, I train for approximately six to seven hours daily.”
Chand had on Thursday said that she is confident of putting up a good show at the Olympics.

“I am very happy that I would be representing India in Tokyo Olympics. I am very proud to know that I am participating in an individual event for the second time. I represented India in the 2016 Rio Olympics in 100m,” ANI quoted Dutee Chand.
“I feel that I will perform well and the credit of my success goes to SAI, Kiren Rijiju sir, my state government, and AFI. I will perform well in the Olympics and will try to win a medal for India,” she added.

Earlier, Union Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju tweeted to congratulate Chand for qualifying for the Olympics.
Last week, Dutee Chand scripted a new national record in the women’s 100m when she clocked 11.17 seconds in the Indian Grand Prix (IGP) 4 in Patiala.
