Kansas City Chiefs running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire was ruled out of Sunday night’s game against the Buffalo Bills due to a knee injury he suffered in the third quarter.

Teammates Tyreek Hill and Darrel Williams carried Clyde off the field after he was tackled following a screen pass. Clyde was unable to stand on his right leg due to the injury.

Clyde suffered a knee injury after his leg bend awkwardly on a third-quarter carry before being taken off the field by teammates and through to the locker room. 

He was held in check before leaving the game; 13 yards on seven carries.

Besides Clyde’s knee injury early in the second half, the Bills also suffered another setback when Travis Kelce left the field in the closing minutes after taking a blow to the head on an incomplete pass.

With Clyde and Kelce out, Darrel Williams and Jerick McKinnon stepped up to play a key role in Chiefs’ effort to mount a second-half comeback rally but they were no match for the Bills.

The Buffalo Bills clinched a 38-20 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs as Josh Allen threw three touchdown passes and ran for another score.

Edward-Helaire, the 32nd overall pick in last year’s NFL Draft, had 803 yards and four touchdowns in 13 games as a rookie. So far this season, the Baton Rouge native has 65 carries for 304 yards, (4.67 yards a carry), but he has not yet had a run of 20 or more yards.

He could be out for one to three weeks due to his injury, according to Fox Sports. Chiefs coach Andy Reid had no update following the game on the Edwards-Helaire.
