Virat Kohli, who was one short of completing 6500 runs in the IPL, on Sunday recorded his third golden duck of the season. The former Royal Challengers Bangalore batter was done by Sunrisers Hyderabad’s J Suchith on the first delivery of the game.
Faf du Plessis won the toss and elected to bat first at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. The RCB skipper and Kohli walked out to the crease, the latter taking the strike.

Spinner Suchith sent the ball drifting into Virat Kohli’s pads and that star batter ended up flicking it straight to short midwicket. Kane Williamson took and easy catch. The former India captain did a facepalm on his way ack to the dugout.

With one more duck, the first recorded against Lucknow Super Giants and the second vs SRH in the two sides’ first meeting this season, Kohli’s average has dipped below 20. The 33-year-old, in 12 games of IPL 2022, has scored 216 runs at an average of 19.63 and a strike rate of 111.34.
Virat Kohli has scored one half-century this season – 58 runs off 53 balls against the Gujarat Titans. He followed it up with a less than run-a-ball 30 versus the Chennai Super Kings.

RCB come to this match with a 13-run win over MS Dhoni’s CSK. They are placed on the fourth rung of the IPL 2022 points table with six wins and five losses. SRH, on the other hand, are sixth with five wins and as many defeats.
