Wriddhiman Saha, who received support from all over the country after he shared a screenshot of a journalist allegedly threatening him, on Tuesday said that he won’t expose the name. The India wicket-keeper batsman was dropped from the Test squad for the two-match series against Sri Lanka.

Saha had shared a screenshot on social media where he said a ‘respected journalist’ refused to give him an interview. The BCCI Secretary Jay Shah said the body will probe the matter and the Indian Cricketer’s Association condemned the messages. 

Despite being asked repeatedly to reveal the identity of the journalist, Saha has refused to do so. 

On Wednesday, in a series of tweets, the 37-year-old said that he would not expose the journalist on grounds of humanity.

 “I was hurt and offended. I thought not to tolerate such kind of behaviour and didn’t want anyone to go through these kind of bullying. I decided I will go out and expose the chat in public eye, but not his/her name,” Saha tweeted. 

He further added that his ‘nature isnt such that I will harm anyone to the extent of ending someone’s career. So on grounds of humanity looking at his/her family, I am not exposing the name for the time being’.

“But if any such repetition happens, I will not hold back.”

“I thank each and everyone who has shown support and extended their willingness to help. My gratitude,” the player’s tweet read. 

Wriddhiman Saha has played 40 Tests since making his debut in 2010.
