American singer-songwriter Kelly Clarkson will get to keep her ranch in Montana, reportedly occupied by her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock. A Los Angeles Superior Court judge rejected Blackstock’s previous petition that the property was “marital property.”
According to the filing quoted by Fox News, a judge ruled that “the Montana ranch and the other two Montana properties are not titled in both of the Parties’ names either as joint tenants with right of survivorship or as tenants by the entireties, as required under the PMA to create marital property.”

Several outlets report that Blackstock, 44, is currently living in the Montana ranch amid his divorce from Clarkson.
Clarkson filed for divorce in June 2020, citing “irreconcilable differences” after nearly seven years of marriage to Blackstock. The couple are parents to daughter River Rose, 7, and son Remington Alexander, 5.
Clarkson was ordered to pay Blackstock $150,000 each month in spousal support and also has to pay $45,601 each month to Blackstock for child support, according to People magazine.
The “Since You’ve Been Gone” singer has also been ordered to pay $1.25 million in legal fees for Blackstock.
Blackstock, who was previously Clarkson’s manager, had argued that he should receive half of anything accumulated during the marriage, including Clarkson’s income.

Clarkson and Blackstock have also been fighting a separate court battle over money. Blackstock’s management company, Starstruck Management Group, sued Clarkson over unpaid commissions. Clarkson countersued and accused Blackstock, and the management company, of defrauding her by charging her excessive fees.
“The relationship had been on the rocks for a long time,” a source told US Weekly, adding Blackstock was extremely jealous of Clarkson’s success. The two had met at a rehearsal for the Academy of Country Music Awards in 2006.
