Representative Matt Gaetz, a Republican lawmaker from the state of Florida and a close ally of former US President Donald Trump, has been pushed deeper into the alleged sex trafficking scandal after US media reported quoting sources that he showed his fellow lawmakers nude photos of the women he had previously engaged with.
According to CNN, Gaetz gained a reputation of being braggy about his sexual escapades in the lawmaking bodies of the state.

“It was a point of pride,” reported CNN quoting sources.
Gaetz is currently being investigated by the United States Department of Justice for being involved with a 17-year-old girl who reportedly travelled with the lawmaker. The investigation is grounded on the various federal statutes in the US which explicitly categorises such activities as unlawful, reported New York Times.
However, Gaetz has dismissed the validity of all the allegations put on him and said in an interview, “I only know that it has to do with women. I have a suspicion that someone is trying to recategorize my generosity to ex-girlfriends as something more untoward.”

He further pressed that the allegations were merely a part of an elaborate scam to extort $25 million from him over meritless “sex allegations.”
The Department of Justice has not pressed on charges on the Flordia Congressman as the extent of his alleged crimes remains to be unclear. There is no established connection between the photos and the ongoing investigation.
