Amid the widening gap and rising tensions between the Republican and Democratic party due to the recently passed bill in Georgia which allegedly suppresses voter rights, US President Joe Biden said he will “strongly support” relocation of the Major League Baseball’s annual All-Stars game from Georgia, scheduled for July 13.

Brian Kemp, the governor of Georgia who signed the legislation into law last month, responded to the slammed the President’s comments and called them “ridiculous”.

The notion to impose voter restrictions in the US has been gaining momentum with a series of Senate-level elections coming up in the country. Around 350 similar bills have been introduced in the state lawmaking bodies in almost every state of the US, reported CNN.

The Major League Baseball game is scheduled for July 13 with the venue being Truist Park. However, an official statement from the organisers of the event is still awaited.
