Actor-YouTuber Rahul Vohra died due to coronavirus-induced complications at a Delhi hospital on Sunday. Prior to his death, he posted a desperate call for help on his Facebook account, requesting for better treatment. 

“Mujhe bhi accha treatment mil jaata to mai bhi bach jaata tumhara IRahul Vohra (If I had also received better treatment, maybe I will survive, yours IRahul Vohra),” he wrote in what turned out to be his last Facebook post.

Sharing his details, Vohra added, “Jald janam lunga or acha kaam karunga. Ab himmat haar chuka hu (Soon, I will be reborn and will do good work, now I have lost all courage).”

He also tagged Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Delhi Minister Manish Sisodia in his post. 

A number of his colleagues, inluding theatre director-playwright Arvind Gaur and actor Amit Pachori confirmed his death on social media. 

“Rahul Vohra is gone, my talented actor is no more. It was only yesterday that he said his life could have been saved if he got better treatment. He was shifted to Ayushman, Dwarka last evening but we could not save him. Please forgive us, we are all your culprits. My last respects,” Gaur said in a Facebook post.

Vohra, 35, was a popular face in the digital media space, especially on social media. He had over 1.9 million followers on Facebook, over 53,000 followers on Instagram and over 107,000 subscribers on Youtube. 

Born in Uttarakhand, he made his first forays into acting with theatre in Delhi. He featured in the 2014 Netflix film ‘Unfreedom’, in which he protrayed a right-wing leader. 

He is survived by his wife Jyoti Tiwari, who regularly featured in his videos and also wrote the scripts for them.
