Menon is back in the role of Himmat Singh in ‘Special Ops 1.5’. The Disney+ Hotstar show’s official trailer released on Tuesday and it has got fans on their feet. This
season will be dealing with Himmat’s origin and his journey to become an
officer for India’s intelligence agency RAW.

The trailer
opens with Abbas Sheikh played by Vinay Pathak being questioned about Himmat
Singh’s life following the set of events that took place in the show’s first
season. The role of these investigators is played by Kali Prasad Mukherjee and
Parmeet Sethi.

Then the
words “You know the man” followed by “But not his story” are flashed on the screen
and the viewers are taken back to 2001, the year in which the Indian Parliament
was attacked by a group of terrorists.
It looks like
there comes a time when Himmat chooses to ‘suspend himself’ from the job but
soon enough he is called back because of a national threat. A character given
the name of ‘Maninder Singh’ goes missing and the intelligence agency calls
upon Himmat’s skills to catch the man.

The prequel
shows a more impulsive side of their favourite character as compared to the
calm, composed and level headed officer
they saw in the previous season.
Aftab Shivdasani is
expected to play a big role this season as he embarks on an investigation with
his partner Himmat Singh.
The trailer was originally
scheduled to release on October 20 but it became a victim of online piracy. It
was leaked online and soon became viral on all social media platforms which
forced the makers to release it one day earlier.

The cast features Vinay Pathak, Parmeet Sethi, KP Mukherjee, Aishwarya
Sushmita, Maria Ryaboshapka, Shiv Jyoti Rajput, Vijay Vikram Singh, Santanu
Ghatak in pivotal roles.
Special Ops 1.5 will be released on November 12, 2021 and
fans will be able to stream the show exclusively on Disney+ Hotstar.
