DJ Khaled was inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Monday in a ceremony that was attended by several of his key collaborators, including  Jay-Z and Diddy. 

During the induction ceremony, which was live-streamed on YouTube, Khaled thanked all those who supported him. 

“I wanna make one thing super clear, this star I want it to represent the light that shines on everybody. God put me on this earth to be a light. I want everybody to take this starlight and know that it’s forever, it’s for all of us. It’s for hip-hop. We are just getting started, this is just the beginning,” he said.

Fat Joe, who introduced Khaled, recalled how they first met and eventually became friends. 

“When I met him, he made me move out of New York to Miami,” Joe began. “Just to be close to him … that energy was so infectious. When I think of Khaled, I think of love. That’s the only reason why you see the heavyweights here like you see them.”

“In hip-hop, for a long time, we haven’t really embraced fatherhood. Nobody has done it like Khaled. And music-wise, there’s nobody with a greater ear,” he added.

Khaled’s wife Nicole Tuck and their two children were also present at the event. 

Speaking about Khaled’s growth, Diddy said, “You are the definition of, if you wanna make something happen, you gotta put in that work and make it happen. I’ve seen you from when we didn’t have nothing, from when we were just coming out from the mud.”

After the event, Khaled, who is the 719th star in the music recording category of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, posed for photos with his star.
