Wedding season is approaching and so it the hustle-bustle to get hold of the best engagement rings to surprise the love of your life. Gone are the days when the family was involved to buy this particular ornament because now the couple wants to shop for the rings together. To ease down your time and pain, experts list down some of the smart choices that can make your special day memorable.
Ishan Chawla and Manik Bhola, founders of engagement ring brand Ornaz, list down some key trends derived from a survey carried by them as per the Indian Engagement Ring Market and Ornaz customers
They say that some of the popular ring styles are “cocktail design with center solitaire, a classic ring with an eternity band, vintage setting and three-stone setting.
Some of the other trends they have discovered are that there is a shift from traditional ceremony to intimate proposals.
“Across the years it has been seen that there is a major change in the way people get hitched these days, there is lesser involvement of family choosing engagement rings for couples. Couples are going all by themselves from choosing a ring to planning a surprise intimate proposal. They want to customize their engagement ring together and this has also become a trend now,” said Ishan.
Manik says that “Couples want to personalize their ring with something.”
If you are thinking of buying other pieces of jewellery for your wedding, get hold of some sustainable fashion that is making waves currently, says designer Akash Aggrawal
“Jewellery trend is looking for sustainability. We have to look forward to terracotta, we have to go back to handicrafts and also we have to look forward to places like Delhi Hatt to shop. I think, pieces of jewellery from Orissa, Kashmir, Gujrat, and Jaipur are show stealers,” he told Opoyi.
“That Chinese fashionable chunk jewellery is absolutely out of fashion. It’s time now to wear our Indian heritage product,” he said.
