South Africa defeated India 2-1 in a
three-match Test series Friday. India’s loss saw former England captain Michael
Vaughan and former India opener Wasim Jaffer getting involved in banter on
Twitter. South Africa won the third Test by seven wickets and clinched the Test

This was India’s first series loss in three years
abroad. Though India were considered the favourite to win the series in absence
of Quinton de Kock, Virat Kohli’s men failed to cope with the challenge thrown
by young cricketers. The defeat means, India’s chances of completing a Test
series win each in SENA countries went in vain. India had previously won Test
series in England, Australia and New Zealand but South Africa has always been a
tough country to tour for India.

Following the defeat, Vaughan and Jaffer
had a hilarious interaction. While Vaughan taunted the former Indian batter on
India’s defeat, Jaffer hit back with Kohli and co’s successful outings in the
side’s Test tour of England last year. India returned home taking a 2-1 lead in
England, with the final Test postponed due to the threat of the COVID-19.
