Corinth, Texas is a relatively small city with a population of just below 19,000. It comes under the Denton County in the state and is a part of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. It is located in the north central part of Texas.
The city is a respectable 7.9 square miles. However, part of the city, 0.63% is covered by water. In terms of its population, while white people do make up for a majority of the city’s demographic, a surprising 16.69% of the Hispanic and Latinx have a presence in the city. Corinth is a city which was first incorporated in 1960 and is considered to be one of the top growth areas in Texas as well as the United States. The city has been managed under a council-manager form of government since 1999.

Most recently, Corinth has found itself in the news, after the County issued an AMBER alert on a 12-year-old who the police say is in “grave or immediate danger.” According to the Corinth Police Department, Angie Carrasco has gone missing after being abducted by a suspect driving a newer silver colour Chevrolet. At this time, the number plate of his vehicle is not known.

Carrasco has been described as five feet and one inch in height, weighs 120 pounds, and has brown hair, brown eyes and, according to reports, last seen wearing a t-shirt, black shorts and black croc-like shoes.

An AMBER alert is an acronym, which stands for: American Missing: Broadcast Emergency Response. It is used in the event of a child’s kidnapping. A message is sent to all the members of the public in order to “recruit” them to find the missing child. The AMBER alert programme was created following the murder of Amber Rene Hagerman and the subsequent push to create a programme to prevent such abductions from happening again.
