Arizona, one of the most competitive states in US elections, will conduct its primary polls on August 2, 2022. The elections are expected to serve as one of the key battlegrounds for control of the US House of Representatives and Senate.
Arizona currently has a mix of GOP and Democratic officials. Governor Doug Ducey, who is term-limited, is a member of the Republican party. The two Senators of Arizona, however, are Democrats. One of them is Kyrsten Sinema, who has often crossed party lines to vote alongside Republicans.

Here are the state and Congressional offices that will be on the ballot on August 2, 2022:
Governor’s office
The gubernatorial race, mostly on the Republican side, will be highly competitive. Top candidates include Kari Lake, first-time candidate and former Phoenix television anchor, and Karrin Taylor Robson, who has been endorsed by outgoing governor Ducey.
US Senate seat
Only one US Senate seat is up for grabs in Arizona this election season. While Democrat Mark Kelly will fight to retain his seat in the upcoming general elections, Kristen Sinema has nothing to worry about.
Kelly will be unchallenged in the primaries but is likely to face tough competition from the Republican winner. Media reports suggest that Mark Bronvich, Jim Lamon and Blake Masters are the front runners.

Secretary of State
The Secretary of State race in Arizona primaries is also expected to be one of the most competitive. On the Republican side, Mark Finchem, Shawnna Bolick and Beau Lane are considered to be the frontrunners. Reginald Bolding and Adrian Fontes occupy the Democratic race.
Multiple seats from the US House of Representatives are also up for grabs, which could potentially shift the majority after the elections. The House is currently dominated by Democrats and the Senate is evenly divided between both parties.
