In the Forbes real-time billionaires rankings, Gautam Adani made headlines on Friday, September 16, when he became the second richest person in the world for a brief period, before slipping back to third place. The 60-year-old is the chairman of Adani Group and controls seven publicly traded firms.
Gautam Adani is married to Priti Adani. The couple has two sons, Karan Adani and Jeet Adani. Karan is older than Jeet by 10 years. Karan Adani was born on April 7, 1987, and is the chief executive officer (CEO) of Adani Ports & SEZ limited and director of Adani Airport Holdings Limited. The 35-year-old is a graduate of Prude University with a bachelor’s degree in economics via the Management School.

In 2016, Karan Adani overtook the operations of Adani Ports & SEZ limited. As per his Wikipedia profile, he led an acquisition of Kattupalli port in Tamil Nadu. The port was acquired from Larsen and Toubro making it the 10th port in the APSEZ network.
Karan Adani married Paridhi Shroff in 2013. Paridhi is the daughter of Cyril Shroff, who is the managing partner of the law firm, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas. The couple welcomed a daughter in 2016.
Gautam Adani’s younger son, Jeet Adani was born on November 7, 1997. He joined the Adani Group in 2019, after attending the University of Pennsylvania, School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. The 25-year-old began his career in the group CFO’s office, looking at Strategic Finance, Capital Markets and Risk & Governance Policy. He became the director of Adani Digital Services Ltd (ADSL). He is also the director of Adani Properties.

Gautam Adani is also the president of the Adani Foundation, which is primarily led by his wife Priti Adani. It was founded in 1996. The Foundation operates in the states of Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and Gujarat.
