Who is Mustafizur Rahman?

Mustafizur Rahman, a Bangladeshi cricketer,
was born on September 6, 1995, in the small village of Satkhira in the Khulna
district of Bangladesh. He is the youngest of the six kids born to Mahmuda
Khatun and Abul Qasem Gazi. His father is a passionate cricket supporter. 

Cricket practice sessions with his
brother Mokhlesur Rahman, 40 kilometers (25 miles) from their house, sparked
the player’s interest in the game.

In 2012, Rahman, an expert left-arm
fast-medium bowler, traveled 300 kilometers from Dhaka to Satkhira to compete
in an Under-17 event. He then came to Dhaka to try out a fast-bowling programme. 

He made his first-class debut for Khulna
during the 2013–14 season, and after taking eight wickets at the U-19 World Cup
in the United Arab Emirates, he was selected for Bangladesh A’s trip to the
West Indies.

He was accepted into the BCB’s pace
foundation, where he quickly attracted the attention of the coaches, earning a
spot on the Bangladesh Under-19 team for the 2014 World Cup.

On April 24, 2015, Mustafizur played
against Pakistan in a twenty-over match, during which he took the wickets of
two experienced Pakistani batsmen in Shahid Afridi and Mohammad Hafeez at the
beginning of his international career.

India visited Bangladesh for one Test
match and three One Day Internationals in June 2015. The ODI team included the
27-year-old player who demonstrated his potential in the opening game of the
series by taking five wickets in 9.2 overs against a strong Indian batting
order.
