Hardik Pandya was dismissed hit wicket on the last ball of the 20th over, after his death over heroics helped India finish strongly at 168/6.

The allrounder reached his maiden half century in this T20 World Cup, off 20 balls. Pandya was unfortunately got out by hit wicket in the last ball of the innings. What’s worse is that England got a dot ball instead of a boundary due to the wicket. In the end, the 29-year-old finished with 63 runs off just 33 balls, hitting four boundaries and five sixes on the way.

The last over heroics came after many Twitter users questioned the move of promoting Pandya up the order. However, the allrounder silenced his critics with a brilliant half century. It was due to his death over hitting that India, at one point on 75/3 in the 12th over, to 168/6 after 20 overs.

His 61-run stand with another half centurion, Virat Kohli was crucial in India posting the total. The pair started troubling the English bowler in the 15th over, in which spinner Liam Livingstone gave up 10 runs. However, England gave another jolt to India, dismissing Virat Kohli as soon as he reached his half century off 40 balls.
