NFL honors John Madden in the Thanksgiving celebration on Thursday.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said, “No one cared more or contributed more to our game than John Madden”. “Honoring his memory and impact on the NFL is important and Thanksgiving Day brings all of the elements significant to John to life — family, football, food, and fun.”

NFL star John Madden died on December 28, 2021, at the age of 85. He is now survived by his wife Virginia, their two kids, and five grandchildren.

Who is John Madden’s wife Virginia?

Virginia was the wife of popular NFL star John Madden. She was born and raised in the United States of America. She is also an American by birth. 

Virginia and John Madden tied the knot on December 26, 1959 in the St Mary of the Assumption Church in Santa Maria. The couple first met in a bar in Pismo Beach, California.

She attended the Jefferson High School like that of her husband John Madden.

Though much is not known about Virginia’s professional career, but reports suggest that she was in charge of caring for the family’s collection of antiques that included highway YIELD sign gifted to Madden by Ted Hendricks. 

The couple has two kids children Joseph and Michael who were also brought up in Pleasanton, California.

Since the passing of her husband, Virginia has not made a public statement. Soon after the tragic news was revealed, a number of well-known figures paid tribute to the Hall of Fame Football Coach.

Soon after John Madden’s death Jerry Jones, owner of the Dallas Cowboys said, John Madden is “a very dear friend”.

Virginia Field also has five grandchildren. 

Virginia’s net worth is estimated to $200 million and she also inherits the property of her late husband. John Madden was also among the first celebrities to earn $1 million per year in the 1980’s.
