Kylian Mbappe was giggling. He looked delighted as England skipper Harry Kane missed a penalty, a chance to equalise, against France in the FIFA World Cup 2022 quarterfinal on Saturday.
France ultimately won the game 2-1 and will face Morocco in the semi-final on Thursday.

In the 80th minute, substitute Mason Mount was brought down by France’s Hernandez. While the referee did not call a penalty, the VAR call favoured England.
Harry Kane, who had already scored his team’s opening goal from the spot, was all set to equalise. Facing his Tottenham Hotspur teammate Hugo Lloris, who is the goalkeeper for France, the Three Lions skipper hit the ball wildly over the bar.

His missed a golden chance to save England from a loss. Mbappe was spotted giggling after Kane’s miss.

“Harry Kane’s penalty just flying over America as we speak,” a Twitter user said.
“The only thing coming home is the Harry Kane penalty that he skied. Gareth Southgate always loses whenever he comes up against opposition of similar quality. In fact we had better players and still lost! A likeable loser who will get exposed in a league job,” another one said.
French midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni opened his team’s account in the 17th minute and his side went 1-0 up at half-time. Harry Kane, early in the second-half, equalised from the spot.
Striker Olivier Giroud scored his 53rd goal for France in the 79th minute and they established a 2-1 lead. Kane, with his second penalty of the game, had a chance to equalise and push the game into extra-time. However, he missed.
Manager Gareth Southgate consoled Harry Kane after the final whistle. Argentina and Croatia play the other semi-final of the FIFA World Cup 2022.
