Fans at the MetLife Stadium chanted ‘MVP, MVP’ for quarterback Jalen Hurts after the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the New York Giants on Sunday. The match ended with a total of 48 points for the Eagles as opposed to the Giant’s 22.

The former Oklahoma Sooners quarterback has completed 20 touchdowns and three interceptions, totaling 2,940 yards. This season, Hurts is in the top 10 passing yards as well as touchdowns. With a 108.3 rating, he ranks third in passer. Hurts’ legs are just as deadly as his arm, making him a danger on both fronts.

Although the MVP title is yet to be decided formally, the Eagles fans were so impressed with the 24-year-old’s performance against the Lions on Sunday, that they sang in unison for him to be given the MVP title.

Hurts has rushed for 609 yards and scored nine running touchdowns this season. With nine rushing touchdowns, he is tied for fifth in the league. All things considered, the Eagles’ third-year quarterback is a strong favourite to win the league MVP this year.

Along with Patrick Mahomes, Hurts will be a contender to win the NFL MVP.  Cowboys LB Micah Parsons, Bills quarterback Josh Allen and 49ers DE Nick Bosa, and Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa are some of the other contenders with Hurts and Mahomes to win the title.
