Brock Purdy, the San Francisco 49ers quarterback scored his first career rushing touchdown against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Levi’s Stadium on Sunday. Purdy was the last pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, and as a result, he is called Mr. Irrelevant.

The first-choice QBs for the 49ers, Jimmy Garoppolo and Josh Johnson, were out of the game on Sunday due to injuries. It gave the 22-year-old his first 49ers start and he made the best use of it while Tom Brady, the legendary Buccaneers QB, sat on the side watching the young gun fire.
A native of Queen Creek, Arizona, Purdy played high school football for Perry High School. He joined Iowa State University in 2018 and was a third-string to Kyle Kempt and Zeb Noland in his freshman year. I
At Iowa State as well, Purdy got his first start when the first-choice quarterbacks Kempt and Noland were rendered ineffective due to injuries. He managed to complete 146 out of 220 passes completing 2250 yards, 16 touchdowns, and seven interceptions.

He was picked by the 49ers as the 262nd overall – Mr. Irrelevant, in the 2022 NFL Draft. He played for the first time on October 23, 2022, in the first quarter of the 49ers’ clash with Kansas City Chief.
When Garoppolo suffered an injury against Miami Dolphins last week, the 49ers called on the 22-year-old to take the first-choice spot on the lineup.
On December 4, 2022, Purdy connected with former Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey on a 3-yard pass for his first career touchdown. After that, he gave the team’s fullback Kyle Juszczyk another touchdown pass.
