The Minnesota Vikings recovered a 33-point deficit in the second-half and then managed to tie the game at 36-36 against the Indianapolis Colts only to win in overtime.

Kirk Cousins and co won 39-36 at the US Bank Stadium and clinched NFL North with a 11-3 record. This is the largest comeback in NFL history. 

Indianapolis got off to a flying start. The first quarter saw a blocked punt returned for a touchdown by Jo Jo Doman. Dalvin Cook fumbled to set up a touchdown pass from Matt Ryan to Deon Jackson. The Colts kicked off the game with a 17-0 lead. 

Jeff Saturday’s men scored another 16 points to finish the half leading 33-0. 

Minnesota’s comeback started after a three-and-out. With 11:23 left in the third quarter, the Vikings defense got the ball back to Kirk Cousins, who hit K.J. Osborn for a 2-yard touchdown. 

Then C.J. Ham scored another one, taking the game to 36-14. Star wide receiver Justin Jefferson, who had taken a hard fall in the first quarter, made an eight-yard touchdown with 12:53 left in the fourth quarter.

Two Chandon Sullivan TDs were ruled out. Cousins connected with Adam Thielen for a 1-yard touchdown, bringing the game to 36-28. 

After Sullivan was given a 15-yard penalty, the Vikings started at 45. After Cousins missed three throw, Colts’ Christian Darrisaw was flagged for a false start. Minnesota started in a  4th-and-15 situation at their 45. The quarterback scrambled and was brought down. 

However, with 2:19 to go, Matt Ryan handed the possession to the Vikings again – only to see Dalvin Cook take 64 yards to the end zone. Hockerson did the two-point conversion. 

The game was tied at 36-36 and a field goal got Minnesota three important points and their win. Kirk Cousins finished with 34 of 54 for 460 yards and four touchdowns. 

Dalvin Cook had 17 carries for 95 yards in addition to four catches for another 95 and a touchdown. Justin Jefferson finished with 12 catches for 123 yards and one TD.
