NFL Fantasy Football 2022: Week 6 waiver wire targets

  • With Rashaad Penny potentially out of the season, Kenneth Walker will start for the Seattle Seahawks
  • Alec Pierce had eight catches and 81 yards in the Indianapolis Colts' win vs Denver
  • Taysom Hill had nine rushing attempts for 112 yards and three touchdowns in Week 5

Seattle Seahawks running back Rashaad Penny left the field against the New Orleans Saints with a left leg injury. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that the 26-year-old suffered a fractured tibia and may require surgery.

With the Seahawks star’s potential season-ending injury, his back-up Kenneth Walker took the field. The 21-year-old rushed for a 69-yard TD. He finished the game with eight carries for 88 yards.

Alec Pierce, a rookie wide receiver, had a team-high eight catches and 81 yards in the Indianapolis Colts’  overtime win against the Denver Broncos on Thursday. 

Injuries, standout performances influenced Opoyi’s week 6waiver wire list. We’re providing the priority order in which to target players as well as suggestions for how much of your Free Agent Acquisition Budget (FAAB) to use.

1. Alec Pierce (Recommended FAAB: 10% of overall budget):

The Indianapolis rookie secured eight of nine targets for 81 yards against the Broncos. He also committed a fumble recovered by Indianapolis. He had 12.10 fan points and was rostered by only 8% Yahoo managers. 

2. Kenneth Walker (Recommended FAAB: 45% of overall budget): 

Rostered 44% in Yahoo Fantasy, Kenneth Walker is the hottest player on the waiver wire. With Rashaad Penny injured, the youngster will lead the Seahawks as RB1.

3. Deon Jackson (Recommended FAAB: 5% of overall budget):

Another Indianapolis Colts star, Deon Jackson rushed 13 times for 62 yards. He caught all four targers for 29 yards in his team’s win over Denver. The 23-year-old was rostered by 1% of the Yahoo Fantasy managers.

4. Mike Boone (Recommended FAAB: 5% of overall budget):

The 27-year-old, rostered 36%, rushed seven times for 38 yards in Denver’s loss against the Colts. He had three receptions for 47 additional yards. 

5. Latavius Murray (Recommended FAAB: 5% of overall budget):

Latavius Murray did not play on Thursday. The Denver Broncos signed him off the New Orleans Saints’ practice squad and placed starting running back Javonte Williams and starting outside linebacker Randy Gregory on injured reserve.

Murray rushed 11 times for 57 yards in the Week 4 game. He also had a touchdown.

6. Taysom Hill (Recommended FAAB: 5% of overall budget):

The tightend had nine rushing attempts for 112 yards and three touchdowns in Saints’ win over the Seahawks. Rostered 29%, he also had a passing TD. 

7. Marques Valdez Scantling (Recommended FAAB: 7% of overall budget):

Rostered 37% on Yahoo Fantasy, Marques Valdez Scantling managed to score 23 points. He received 13 out of the 23 passes thrown at him. He had 168 receiving yards.
