The defense of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers ended the first half of their Week 8 Thursday Night clash against the Baltimore Ravens with a block of a field goal attempt from Raven’s kicker Justin Tucker

The play was led by defensive end Pat O’Connor who put a hand in the air that helped to stop the ball from going in between the posts as the clock was ticking away for the end of the second quarter. It was the first blocked field goal kick of the season for Tucker.

The score read 10-3 at the end of the first half. Tampa’s defense has been able to stop the Ravens’ offense which is one of the best in the league. The Lamar Jackson-led offense is currently 11th in the NFL in total passing yards while stands fifth in rushing yards with 1094 yards. 

Justin Tucker had successfully made 14 out of his 15 attempts in the season, going three for three, four for four and two for two from the 20-29, 30-39 and 40-49 yards field goal range respectively.

His only missed FG was a 56-yard attempt against the New York Giants which hit the goal post twice before falling out of bounds. The team lost the game 24-20. Connor secured his second-ever blocked kick in his career. He had the first one in 2020 when Tampa Bay Buccaneers won the Super Bowl. Along with this, he has recorded just one tackle in the 2022 season.

The defensive end player has played all of his four-year NFL career with Tampa Bay, recording ten tackles and 1.5 sacks.

The team from Maryland state has had a poor first half against the Buccs, only passing 75 yards as compared to their opponent’s 150 yards. They however have outscored the team in the rushing category, achieving a 120 to 30 lead carrying the ball.
