The New York Giants faced the Dallas Cowboys in the final match of Week 3 of the 2022 NFL season in Monday night football at the MetLife Stadium. While expectations were not high on the Cowboys offense following the thumb injury of starting quarterback Dak Prescott that ruled him out, 25-year-old running back Tony Pollard soon made headlines.

The Cowboys began the game strongly, taking a 3-0 lead in the first quarter. Cooper Rush, the backup quarterback for the Cowboys found CeeDee Lamb for 15-yard in the first play and Tony Pollard scored a first down soon after.

However, the highlight of Pollard came in the second quarter, when he put up the biggest play of the game till that time with a 46-yard sprint to help the Dallas Cowboys in the red zone. It helped the visitors to take a 3-0 lead in the second quarter, however, the Giants scored their first points soon after.

The Cowboys running back started the game in a spectacular fashion on Monday, registering 6 carries for 71 yards, with an average of 11.8 yards per carry. Pollard has been one of the most successful running backs in the league since the beginning of the new season, registering 15 carries for 51 yards, with an average of 3.4 yards per carry, 1 touchdown, 6 receptions for 69 yards, with an average of 11.5 yards per reception in September.

Pollard also has 332 carries for 1,660 yards, 9 rushing touchdowns, 88 receptions for 705 yards, 2 receiving touchdowns and 3 fumbles in his career.

The Dallas Cowboys began their season with a 3-19 defeat against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 1. However, they returned to winning ways in the subsequent week, registering a 20-17 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals. At the time of writing this article, the Dallas Cowboys are leading 6-3 in halftime against the New York Giants at the MetLife Stadium.
