The 30-scrip Sensex dropped by 1,747.08 points or 3% to close at 56,405.84 and the broader Nifty ended at 531.95 points or 3.06% at 16,842.80. All the sectoral indices ended in the including auto, oil & gas, bank, pharma, PSU Bank, FMCG, metal, realty and capital goods indices shredding up to 6%. BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices lost 3-4%.

Here are key stocks that moved most during today’s trading session:

Grasim Industries: The share dropped by 4.22% to close at Rs 1,638.00 as the bourses around the world ended with losses. The company reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 1,746 crore for the Q3FY22, up 26% from Rs 1,389 crore in the year-ago period. The Aditya Birla Group reported consolidated revenue of Rs 24,402 crore, a 16% increase from Rs 21,000 crore in a year-ago period.

ONGC: The share closed 1.43% lower at 165.75 points after the government-owned oil and gas company reported a consolidated profit after tax (PAT) for Rs 11,637 crore for the third quarter ended December 2021, a 220% high from the PAT of Rs 3,637 crore in the year-ago period. Sequentially, it was 38% down from Rs 18,749 crore in the second quarter ended September 2021.

JSW Steel: The share dropped by 43.45 points or 6.47% to close at Rs 627.95%.

Metropolis Healthcare: The company’s shares dropped 15.13% to close at Rs 2040.00 on Nifty 500 after the company reported disappointing earnings performance for September to December 2021 quarter.

TVS Motor Company: The stock closed 3.46% lower at Rs 637.60 after its promoter Sundaram Clayton sold around a 2% stake at an average price of Rs 635.97 per share through an open market transaction on the BSE. Clayton’s stake has reduced to 50.26% from 52.26% earlier.
