The 30-scrip BSE Sensex crashed 1,023.63 points or 1.75%
to close at 57,261.19. Similarly, the NSE Nifty plunged 302.70 points or 1.73%
to close at 17,213.60.

Among sectoral indices, except PSU bank, metal and power
all others closed the day in red with auto, FMCG, IT, bank, healthcare, realty,
capital goods falling by 1-2%. BSE Midcap and smallcap indices fell 0.75-1.25%.

Here are the key stocks that moved most during today’s
trading session:

Interglobe Aviation: IndiGo’s parent company’s shares
climbed 9.45% to close at Rs 2,161.00 after the company reported a net profit
of Rs 129.79 crore after posting losses for seven consecutive quarters. Net
revenue increased 89% to Rs 9,294 crore from Rs 4,909.98 crore in the year-ago
period. Its passenger ticket revenue stood at Rs 8,073 crore, up by 98.4%,
while ancillary revenue stood at Rs 1,141.70 crore, a 41.3% increase in the
same quarter the previous year.

Bank of Baroda: The PSU lender’s shares jumped 6.19% to
close at Rs 113.15 after it reported a net profit of Rs 2,197 crore for the
December 2021 quarter as compared to Rs 1,061.1 crore in the corresponding
quarter last year. Net interest income (NII) increased 14.4% YoY to Rs 8,552.1
crore.

Tata Steel: The stock went 0.74% higher to close at Rs
1,184.95 after the steelmaker reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 9,573
crore for the third quarter, a 159% increase from Rs 3,697 crore in the
year-ago period.

Union Bank of India: The state-owned bank’s shares
dropped 0.83% to close at Rs 47.60 after it reported a net profit of Rs 1,085.4
crore, a 49.3% increase YoY from Rs 726.8 crore. The gross NPA was posted at
11.62% as compared to 12.64% in the previous quarter. Net NPA stood at 4.09%
against 4.61% (QoQ). Net interest income (NII) rose 8.9% Rs 7,174 crore as
compared to Rs 6,589.5 crore in the year-ago period.

HDFC Bank: The private lender’s shares ended 3.47% lower
at Rs 1,471.05 crore. HDFC Twins (HDFC Bank & HDFC) were the biggest losers
on Nifty 50 today.
