Joey Bosa, outside linebacker for the Los Angeles Chargers, smashed his helmet on the sideline against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Saturday. However, he was not ejected.

Bosa was chosen third overall by the (then San Diego) Chargers in the 2016 NFL Draft after playing college football for Ohio State. He was then voted NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year.
Since then, Bosa has been praised as one of the NFL’s top pass rushers. He is the elder brother of current NFL player Nick Bosa and the son of former NFL player John Bosa.
Bosa was predicted by NFL expert Daniel Jeremiah to go in the top 10 picks in the 2016 NFL Draft in March 2016. As one of the high draft prospects, Bosa was given a pass to the NFL combine.
He participated in positional exercises as well as all of the necessary combined drills. At the combine, Bosa spoke with and conducted interviews with 13 NFL teams, including the Tennessee Titans, Dallas Cowboys, Cleveland Browns, Baltimore Ravens, and New Orleans Saints. Scouts considered his performance at the combine as a whole to be impressive.
The San Diego Chargers selected Bosa with the third overall pick in the first round. In the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft, he was the first of five Ohio State players to be selected, the others being Ezekiel Elliott, Eli Apple, Taylor Decker, and Darron Lee.
Bosa suffered a groin injury in Week 3’s game in the 2022 season against the Jacksonville Jaguars and had to leave the contest. He required surgery to fix the groin’s core muscle area.
The injury reserve was activated on September 28, 2022. The 29th of December 2022 was the day set for his return from injured reserve. Two days later, he was called up off injured reserve.
