Indian equity benchmarks ended lower on Tuesday with the Sensex losing 287.70 points or 0.48% to settle at 59,543.96. The Nifty lost 74.40 points or 0.42% to end at 17,656.35.
The broader indices ended mostly lower with the BSE MidCap index gaining 0.45% and the SmallCap index up by 0.35%. The top gaining sectoral indices on the BSE were Capital Goods by 1.24%, Auto by 1.22%, Industrials by 0.84%, Oil & Gas by 0.53%, and Metal by 0.50%. While the top losing sectoral indices on the BSE were FMCG by 1.10%, Telecommunication by 0.91%, Financial Services by 0.62%, Realty by 0.61% and Utilities by 0.60%.

Reliance Industries Limited: The stock opened with a positive gap on Tuesday but ended 1.53% lower at Rs 2,441.85 on the BSE after the company reported a net profit of Rs 13,656 crore for the second quarter of the financial year 2022-23. The reported profit was down by over 23% quarter-on-quarter.

Hindustan Unilever Limited: The stock ended 2.71% lower at Rs 2,504.35 on Tuesday on the BSE after the company reported its performance for the second quarter of the financial year 2022-23. EBITDA reported stood at Rs 3,377 crore, 7.8% higher YoY, but margins declined YoY to 22.9% from 24.6%.
Indraprastha Gas: The stock ended 6.31% higher at Rs 407.55 on the BSE on Tuesday after the appointment of Sukhmal Kumar as its Chairman and Additional Director. The company has reported revenue of Rs 3,922 crore for the second quarter of the financial year 2022-23 as against Rs 2,015 crore in the corresponding quarter a year ago.

Laurus Labs: The stock ended 5.42% lower at Rs 453.75 after opening with a positive gap on the BSE after the company reported a 14% year-on-year rise in net profit at Rs 233 crore in the second quarter of the financial year 2022-23 against Rs 204 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Revenue from operations was reported at Rs 1,576 crore from Rs 1,203 crore in the year-ago quarter.
Nykaa (FSN ECommerce Venture Limited): The stock ended 2.90% lower at Rs 1,110.60 on the BSE, below its listing price of Rs 1,125.00.

RBL Bank: The stock ended 2.56% lower at Rs 123.95 on Tuesday on the BSE after it reported a net profit of Rs 202 crore for the second quarter of the financial year 2022-23, against Rs 31 crore in the year-ago quarter. It posted a 9% growth in total revenue to Rs 1,648 crore. Net interest income (NII) grew 16% year-on-year to Rs 1,064 crore while net interest margin (NIM) was at 4.55%.
