Sensex fell 237.44 points or 0.41% to 58,338.93 and Nifty was down by 54.65 points or 0.31% to 17,475.65 in the previous session. Sensex touched a high and low of 59,003.82 and 58,291.23, respectively. There were 10 stocks advancing against 20 stocks declining on the index. Nifty traded in a range of 17,663.65 and 17,457.40. There were 22 stocks advancing against 28 stocks declining on the index.

The top gainers on the Sensex were ITC up by 1.87%, Sun Pharma up by 1.66%, Hindustan Unilever up by 0.99%, SBI up by 0.94% and NTPC up by 0.82%. On the flip side, HDFC down by 2.01%, HDFC Bank down by 1.90%, Maruti Suzuki down by 1.86%, Dr Reddy’s Lab down by 1.71% and Asian Paints down by 1.62% were the top losers.

The top gainers on Nifty were ONGC up by 2.99%, Apollo Hospital up by 2.35%, UPL up by 1.72%, ITC up by 1.62% and Sun Pharma up by 1.51%.On the flip side, Maruti Suzuki down by 2.28%, HDFC down by 2.23%, HDFC Bank down by 1.98%, Dr Reddy’s Lab down by 1.61% and Tata Motors down by 1.55% were the top losers.

Asian Hotels (East) Limited, Anand Rathi Wealth Limited, ANDHRA PAPER LIMITED, Arman Financial Services Limited, and AU Small Finance Bank Limited have made a fresh 52 week high on Wednesday.

Debock Industries Limited, DRC Systems India Limited, Hariom Pipe Industries Limited, and ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund – ICICI Prudential 5 Year G-Sec ETF have hit a 52-week low on Wednesday.

Mrs Bectors Food Specialities Limited, Nippon India Mutual Fund – ETF Nifty SDL – 2026 Maturity, GKW Limited, Anand Rathi Wealth Limited, and Coral India Finance & Housing Limited were the top volume gainers.

AMJUMBO, GOENKA, GTLINFRA, HDIL, and HINDNATGLS hit the upper price band while ADROITINFO, ANTGRAPHIC, CCCL, RMCL, and SANCO hit the lower price band. There were 10 securities that hit the upper band while 7 hit the lower band on April 13, 2022.
