The Sensex rose 212.88 points or 0.36% to 59,756.84 while the Nifty was up by 80.60 points or 0.26% to close at 17,736.95 at the end of Thursday’s trading session.

The Sensex moved in a high and low band of 59,959.94 and 59,496.80. On the index, 20 stocks advanced and 10 stocks declined.

The Nifty traded in the high-low range of 17,783.90 and 17,654.50. On the index, 39 stocks advanced, 10 stocks declined and 1 stock remained stable.

The broader indices ended green with the BSE MidCap index up by 0.44% while the SmallCap index was up by 0.41%. The top gaining sectoral indices on the BSE, Metal up by 3.02%, Realty up by 2.95%, Utilities up by 1.85%, Power up by 1.84% and Oil & Gas up by 1.39%. While  IT down by 0.48% and TECK down by 0.02% were the only losing sectoral indices on the BSE.

The top gainers on the Sensex were Tata Steel up by 3.02%, Power Grid Corp 2.47%, Sun Pharma 2.04%, Bharti Airtel 2.03%, Titan Company 1.45%, Axis Bank 1.37%, Dr. Reddys Labs 1.34%, Kotak Mahindra 1.24%, Mahindra & Mahindra 1.24% and HDFC 1.15%. While the top losers on the index were Bajaj Finance down by 1.92%, Bajaj Finserv 1.68%, Asian Paints 1.32%, Tech Mahindra 0.68%, Nestle 0.60% and Wipro 0.49%.

The top gainers on the Nifty were JSW Steel by 5.84%, Hindalco by 3.54%, Tata Steel by 2.96%, Adani Ports & SEZ by 2.49% and Power Grid Corp by 2.43%.  While the top losers were Bajaj Finance by 1.66%, Bajaj Finserv by 1.60%, Asian Paints by 1.10%, Bajaj Auto by 0.80% and Tech Mahindra by 0.61%.

IIFL Finance Limited, Arvind Fashions Limited, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Limited, Bharti Airtel Limited and Canara Bank hit their 52-week high on Thursday.

NMDC Limited, Gland Pharma Limited, FSN E-Commerce Ventures Limited, Precot Limited, and Akshar Spintex Limited touched a 52-week low on Thursday.

RBL Bank, Tata Steel, Bharati Airtel, Canara Bank and Axis Bank were the most active equities on NSE.

The top volume gainers were Raj Rayon Industries Limited, Bhagyanagar Properties Limited, IFB Agro Industries Limited, Bhagyanagar India Limited, and Newgen Software Technologies Limited.

Bhagyanagar Limited, Nalwa Sons Investments Limited, Adroit Investments Limited, Ankit Metal and Power Limited and CL Educate Limited hit their upper price band.

Gokul Agro Resources Limited, Next Mediaworks Limited, Securecloud Technologies Limited, Shree Ram Proteins Limited, and Techindia Nirmans Limited, hit their lower price band. The upper price band was hit by 58 securities, 49 securities hit the lower band and 15 securities hit both the upper and lower bands on October 27,2022.
