Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched 5G services on Saturday.
An official announcement states that the Prime Minister introduced 5G in a few cities before gradually extending it over the entire nation over the following few years. Jio (Reliance), Airtel, and Vodafone Idea’s CEOs briefly discussed their ambitions. In order to illustrate the possibilities of 5G technology in India, they also showcased one use case each at the event.

According to a study by The World Mobile Data Pricing 2022, India comes in fifth place globally for providing the lowest mobile data plans.
The survey was conducted as part of a research put together by Cable.co.uk that assessed the price of 1GB of mobile data across 233 nations.
India outspends Pakistan ($0.36 approx. Rs. 28.72) and Sri Lanka ($0.27 approx. Rs. 21.54) in terms of the average cost per gigabyte of mobile data.
While Saint Helena, a British Overseas Territory in the South Atlantic Ocean, sells its average 1 GB of mobile data plan for $41.06, which is approximately Rs. 3,276 in price, Israel tops the list for selling the cheapest data plans with an average cost of 1GB of data at $0.04, or approximately Rs. 3.59.

According to the research, the top five nations offering the least expensive mobile data plans are Israel, Italy, San Marino, Fiji, and India. Sim-based data plans with a limited quantity of messages and calls were well covered in this survey. Additionally, the analysts have chosen four archetypes to analyse the report: a prosperous economy, low consumption, strong infrastructure, and modest consumption.
According to the analysis, countries with superior 4G or 5G infrastructure would offer more affordable mobile data plans. While nations without access to fixed broadband are more likely to rely on mobile data. As a result, using mobile data has become the preferred method for online access.

The survey claims that Israeli businesses have excellent 4G LTE and 5G network coverage. Additionally, the smartphone market in Israel is larger than that in the USA.
