Hollywood actor Cameron Diaz is set to “un-retire” after an eight-year hiatus and make a new action-comedy movie with Oscar winner Jamie Foxx, titled ‘Back in Action’.

The ‘Charlie’s Angels’ actor had officially retired from Hollywood in 2018 but announced her literal return to action in an Instagram story, writing, “[Jamie Foxx] only you could get me back in action. I can’t frickin wait it’s gonna be a blast!”

Foxx, for his part, celebrated Diaz’s return to Hollywood on Twitter by uploading a voice clip of a call between them, along with the caption, “Had to call in the GOAT to bring back another GOAT.”

Upon playing the clip, it quickly becomes clear that one of the ‘GOATs’ being referred to is none other than NFL legend and seven-time Super Bowl Champion Tom Brady, who announced his retirement earlier this year, only to return to action weeks afterwards.

In the call, Diaz can be heard telling Foxx, “I feel excited [about coming out of retirement] but, I don’t know how to do this, ya know?”

Then the ‘Ray’ actor tells Diaz, “Listen, I got somebody on the line that can help you with this,” and introduces Brady.

“Oh my god! Is this Tom Brady?!” is Diaz’s understandable response.

“I was talking to Jamie and he said you needed a few tips on how to un-retire,” joked Brady, adding, “I’m relatively successful at un-retiring,” referring to his recent comeback.

“Honestly…exactly what I needed,” says an elated Diaz, confirming her return to Hollywood.

Netflix‘s ‘Back in Action’, whose release date has yet to be announced, will not be the first time that Diaz and Foxx have worked together.

The duo had earlier shared the screen in ‘Any Given Sunday’ (1999) and ‘Annie’ (2014), with the latter being Diaz’s feature film appearance before her retirement in 2018.
