Filmmaker Rohit Shetty mocks his own films and action sequences in
an OLX Autos commercial. Shetty, who has filmed high-octane action
sequences with flying automobiles for films like ‘Singham‘, ‘Sooryavanshi’ and ‘Simmba’, appears alongside actor Sharman Joshi. In the OLX Autos advert,
the director is seen selling a stunt car to Joshi in exchange for a high return.

“Gaadi udaane ke saath saath ab maine gaadiyan bechna bhi
shuru kar diya hai (I’ve also started selling vehicle cars alongside flying
them),” Shetty captioned a post on Instagram that has a video of the
commercial.

The advertisement shows Shetty discussing an action sequence of a
film with the crew, and how he plans to fly cars in it. Joshi then approaches
him and inquires about selling his car. “Have you seen Golmaal?” Shetty asks in response. “Yes.” replies Joshi, who, ironically,
appeared in the first film of the franchise, ‘Golmaal: Fun Unlimited’. In a
humorous turn of events, he continues by saying, “I’ve only seen the first
Golmaal and have since lost interest.”

In response, Shetty quickly says that he wants to sell the car that
flies in ‘Golmaal’, ‘Singham’ and ‘Simmba’. “So how much are you going to pay
for my car?” he asks Joshi, pointing to a car hovering in mid-air. Joshi then uses a calculator to show him the amount, seeing which Shetty exclaims, “Arre Wah. Do car aur udaao (Wow, fly two more cars).”

The hilarious ad drew a lot of laughs and comments. Kunal Kemmu,
who has starred in Shetty’s Golmaal, said, “Haha. “Samajh raha hun
mein wonderful things (I’m able to see wonderful things).” Popular YouTuber
Ashish Chanchlani commented, “That reference by Sharman. Too good.” One
ardent fan of the ‘Golmaal’ actor said, “We want Sharman Joshi back in the ‘Golmaal’ series.”
Other famous Bollywood actors like Shilpa Shetty, Varun Dhawan and Rakul Preet
also commented on the post.

In a mocking tone, another user wrote, “Now people will see the
cars in his films and then will go to OLX to buy them for cheap. Wow.”

Rohit Shetty is known for his spectacular car scenes in his films,
wherein large, expensive vehicles fly and are blown up, which is why, given the
context and tone, he was a natural choice for the ad. Another reason is that
OLX is a marketplace where users can sell second hand products, and Shetty is
known for not disposing of the cars he uses in his film.
