The 2021 MTV Movie and TV Awards will don a different avatar this year. The show, which is usually held on a single day, has been split into two this year. While the main show will go live from the Palladium in Los Angeles on May 16, 9 pm ET (May 17, 6.30 am IST), 24 hours later the MTV Movie and TV Awards: Unscripted will be held.

In new categories, this year, the first night of the show will present the award for the Best Musical Moment that will highlight some of the biggest soundtracks in TV and movies. The second night will recognise the Best Music Documentary during which singers Billie Eilish and Ariana Grande‘s documentaries will be showcased.

While we wait for the 2-night extravaganza to begin, here is a quick guide to the show:

– The first night will be hosted by Saturday Night Live alum Leslie Jones and emceed by Snoop Dogg. The second show will be hosted by comedian Nikki Glaser and Bling Empire’s Kim Lee will be the DJ.

– Nominees

Borat (the most in film categories), WandaVision (five nominations), The Boys (four nominations) and Emily in Paris (four nominations) lead the scripted TV categories. In the reality TV category, RuPaul’s Drag Race earned the most nominations.

– Scarlett Johansson will be honored with the Generation Award, while Sacha Baron Cohen will be given the Comedic Genius Award.
