After having impressed the international audiences of his
titular role in ‘Victoria and Abdul’, Ali Fazal bagged one of the leads in
Kenneth Brannagh’s upcoming film ‘Death On The Nile’. Now the Indian actor has got another Hollywood project titled ‘Kandahar’.

The action-thriller also stars Gerard Butler and is being directed by Ric Roman Waugh, who has
previously directed films including ‘Angel Has Fallen’, ‘Felon’, ‘Greenland’ and his
upcoming Film with JK Simmons ‘National Champions’ among many others.

‘Kandahar’ is helmed by Waugh based on the screenplay he
developed with former military intelligence officer Mitchell LaFortune.

The
story is based on Mitchell’s experiences at the Defense Intelligence Agency in
Afghanistan. The film’s shoot is expected to begin soon in Saudi Arabia. The film is being produced by Thunder Road Films, the
producers of the “John Wick” and “Sicario”, G-BASE and Capstone Group.

Meanwhile, Ali Fazal’s ‘Death on the Nile’ also starring Gal Gadot set to release in Feb 2022.

‘Death on the Nile’ is a mystery thriller film directed by Kenneth Branagh, with a screenplay by Michael Green, based on the 1937 novel of the same name by Agatha Christie. The film is a follow-up to 2017’s Murder on the Orient Express and stars Branagh returning as Hercule Poirot, along with Tom Bateman (also returning from the first film).

The other star cast includes Annette Bening, Russell Brand, Dawn French, Armie Hammer, Rose Leslie, Emma Mackey, Sophie Okonedo, Jennifer Saunders, and Letitia Wright.

The film is the third screen adaptation of Christie’s novel, following the 1978 film and an episode of the television series Agatha Christie’s Poirot broadcast in 2004.

Its release has been delayed several times due to the COVID-19 pandemic, since its original release date of October 2020.
