Social media was soon filled with congratulatory messages when news broke out that former Batman actor, Ben Affleck, had married his former girlfriend, Jennifer Lopez. In an exclusive report by TMZ, the publication claimed to have come across court documents, suggesting the duo had obtained a marriage certificate at Clark County, Nevada, on July 16.

Affleck, who was in a very public relationship with Lopez between 2002 and 2004, had plans to marry the famous singer and dancer. However, the latter put an end to the marriage plans after much media attention to the wedding. However, they reunited with each other in 2021 and had a very private wedding ceremony in Vegas in the following year.

One of the most famous Hollywood stars of his generation, Affleck is known far and wide for his work in films such as Batman, Justice League, Gone Girl, Pearl Harbour, Argo, Armageddon and others. Born on August 15, 1972 in Berkeley, California, Affleck began his career with an independent film, The Dark End of the Street (1981). He then went on to act in children’s series, The Voyage of the Mimi (1984) and The Second Voyage of the Mimi (1988) along with some others.

After finishing high school, he moved to New York to pursue a career in acting. He went onto act in a few television shows and small films, but broke into the limelight with Glory Daze (1995). Three years later, Armageddon (1998) established him as a lead actor. He went on to act in many box office hits since then.

Affleck made his directorial debut in 2007 with Gone Baby Gone. Since then, he has gone on to win many awards.

A close friend of Matt Damon, it was reported that the pair received a sum of $300,000 each for the script of Good Will Hunting. Affleck also earned $6 million for Reindeer Games and $250,000 for Pearl Harbour.

Some of the biggest earnings in his career have been for Changing Lanes ($10 million), The Sum of All Fears ($10 million), Daredevil ($11.5 million) and Gigli ($12.5 million).
