The Tony Award-winning Broadway musical from, ‘Dear Evan Hansen’,
is set to appear on the big screen with a new film. The film will be directed
by Stephen Chbosky. The movie will feature Ben Platt, who won Best Actor in a Musical
at the Tonys for his performance in the play.

The film is written by Steven
Levenson with his music and lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, who were the
shows songwriting team.

Tony, Grammy, and Emmy Award winner Platt will repeat his role
as an anxious isolated high schooler, who aches for understanding and belonging
in the chaos and cruelty of social media. The movie will feature six-time Oscar
nominee Amy Adams, Academy Award winner Julianne Moore, Kaitlyn Dever, Amandla
Stenberg, Colton Ryan, Nik Dodani, DeMarius Copes, and Danny Pino.

Marc Platt and Adam Siegel are the producers of “Dear
Evan Hansen”. Michael Bederman, Steven Levenson, Benj Pasek,
and Justin Paul are the executive producers.

The film will be distributed in
all territories by Universal Pictures and are lined up to premier on the big
screen on September 24.
