Film actor Bramhaswaroop Mishra, who is best known for his role in the web series ‘Mirzapur’, has died in Mumbai.

Excel Entertainment, which bankrolled the web series, shared the sad news on social media on Thursday.

“We are deeply saddened by the untimely demise of #BramhswaroopMishra. Our condolences are with his family and friends. May he rest in peace,” the post said. 

The actor’s semi-decomposed body was reportedly recovered from his flat in Versova and sent for an autopsy at Dr. Cooper Hospital. 

Mishra reportedly complained of chest pain on November 29 and visited a doctor, who gave him some gas medicine and sent him back home. On Thursday, neighbours complained of foul smell and informed the police, who arrived at the scene and found the home locked from inside.

A locksmith was called to make a duplicate key and after entering the residence, the cops found the body in a semi-decomposed state in the bathroom. 

A case of accidental death was registered on the statement of Brahma Mishra’s brother Sandeep. The cause of death was not known, however, it is being suspected that the actor died from a heart attack.

The actor was staying alone since the last four years in his rented apartment.

Mishra has also done roles in films such as Manjhi: The Mountain Man and Kesari. 

Following his death, several of the actor’s co-stars and friends paid tributes.

“RIP Brahma Mishra. Our Lalit is no more. Let’s pray for him everyone,” Divyenndu Sharma wrote on Instagram

Ali Fazal, who co-starred with him on the web show, wrote, “Hearts broken today, yet again. Brahma, take care saathi… RIP.”

Actor Vijay Varma shared a post about Mishra’s death on his Instagram story, writing, “No.”

Gurmmeet Singh, who co-directed the web show, wrote, “He brought a smile to a million faces. He will be missed. RIP Bramha Mishra.”
