Atar actor and environmental activist Leonardo DiCaprio has arrived in Glasgow for the United Nations Climate Change Conference. The Hollywood star, who is a UN climate change representative, was seen at the Kew Carbon Garden exhibit on Tuesday at the main conference centre.

DiCaprio was part of a fringe event on Monday. As he entered the building, he was surrounded by media, supporters, and delegates. The “Titanic” actor posed with film producer Paul Goodenough, founder of the organisation Rewriting Extinction.

Leaders and activists from all across the globe are attending the COP26 meeting, and 200 nations have been requested to submit plans to reduce emissions by 2030.

DiCaprio has contributed millions of dollars to environmental organisations and funded businesses that make natural-fibre sneakers. When they met in 2019, DiCaprio called Greta Thunberg, an activist, a “leader of our time.”

He declared climate change to be “the most serious problem facing our entire species” in an address at the 2016 Academy Awards.

However, at the time, a Forbes piece stated that the actor’s carbon footprint is substantially bigger than he realises due to his lavish lifestyle.

In his 2016 National Geographic documentary “Before the Flood,” the actor voiced his concern about the situation.
