Ahead of the release of ‘Free Guy’ in India, actor Ryan Reynolds sent across a special message for his Indian fans saying that his movie has all the elements of a classic Bollywood film. He also joked that the movie is influenced by Bollywood.

“Hello, India. My new movie ”Free Guy” has a guy named ”Guy” who is quite the Romeo, a girl who is out of his league, a crazy villain, some insane action, and, of course, dancing. If you are wondering if Hollywood is mimicking Bollywood now, well, the answer is yes. We have no shame. No shame at all,” he said in the video, which was shared by Century Studios India on its YouTube page.

The actor, on several occasions, has said that he was a fan of Indian culture and Indian cinema.

“Oh my god. I do love Indian culture and films. I think there is no greater contribution to cinema than from India. When I was a kid I got to see a couple of (movies) from India. I would love to visit India and meet my fans,” he said in an interview with Hindustan Times in 2019.

During the promotions of the movie, Reynolds spoke about playing a “naive and innocent” character.

“There’s a movie that I love called Being There starring Peter Sellers. And that was the first foothold I had into this character and this world. And there’s something really wonderful about playing a character who’s kind of naive and innocent, and it’s even said in the movie, he’s in a sense a four-year-old adult,” he said.
