The first official trailer of ‘Cruella’ from Disney dropped on Wednesday and Academy Award-winning actor Emma Stone is set to play a younger version of the notorious villain Cruella de Vil from the ‘101 Dalmations’ in the upcoming film.

In the one-and-a-half minute long sneak peek, the journey of the early years of Cruella in 1970s London unravels and she is pitted against the Baroness, played by Emma Thompson.

The colour tone and the fashion in the film encapture the beauty of London and as Stone earlier said in an interview, “it’s punk rock.”

With her signature panache, Curella can be heard saying in the trailer, “From the very beginning, I realized I saw the world very differently than everyone else. That didn’t sit well with some people, but I wasn’t for everyone. I guess they were always scared that I would be…a psycho.”

“But a new day brings new opportunities,” she continues. “And I was ready to make a statement. How does the saying go? I am woman, hear me roar.”

Disney released the first poster for the film a day before, where Stone can be seen flaunting her character’s iconic black and white hair.

Previously, at Disney’s D23 Expo convention in August 2019, Stone teased the storyline of the standalone movie. “Since you’re such huge Disney fans, we wanted to let you know a bit about the story,” she told the jubilated crowd.

The live-action film is set for release on May 28, 2021.
